Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.
Police state they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish substance.
The substance had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then located many other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report early analysis indicate the fluid was likely blood from a person.
"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; authorities are not yet informed of any injuries in association with the event," they stated.
Local authorities announced they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the residents for information.
A senior political figure stated the incident rendered him stunned and required to be addressed rapidly.
"This incident affects the core of Hanau and revives the wounds of the extremist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, referring to the murder of nine victims by a gunman targeting residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
