Fantastic $30 Cartography Software Bundle Is a Virtual Tabletop Game Master's Fantasy

Following a short availability back in April, the Map Making Mega Bundle has returned with an encore available until Dec. 2. Described as an extensive collection of mapping tools developed by ProFantasy Software over the years, the entire collection is valued at over $1,300. And there are three different bundles available here.

Primary Feature

The big draw is certainly permanent access for Campaign Cartographer 3+, an industry-standard mapping application which enables users to create everything from fantasy overworld maps, smaller regional maps, city maps, and, perhaps most importantly, tactical combat environments.

Package Levels

Entry Level

The cheapest bundle tier, at a minimum cost of $1, features merely four from the thirty-nine available products: Fantasy Overland Symbol Collection, Monster Token Pack 1, Source Maps: Castles!, Urban Source Maps. This package suits existing CC3+ users, but it does offer fresh fantasy design elements for overworld maps, more than 750 monster tokens compatible with online gaming platforms, more than two dozen aerial castle designs including hundreds of map markers, eight fully mapped cities, and more than 70 urban floorplans.

Intermediate Package

The eight-item bundle starting at fifteen dollars is where things get more interesting by adding in a lifetime CC3+ license, the first Annual volume, Ultimate Mapping Guidebook, Isometric Cities Symbol Pack. Cartographer's Annual is the yearly bundle from ProFantasy's long-running monthly subscription service which includes a variety CC3+ add-ons like map collections and various other tools. The Isometric Cities enables present urban areas in 3D perspective with isometric views from multiple angles. Meanwhile, the Mapping Tome comprises 760 pages suitable for novices and experts, packed with guidance and instructions covering cartography techniques.

Every volume from the Annual series are included here, alongside a slew of additional tools and content that can help users design entire planets or galaxies, or focus exclusively on classic fantasy realm creation: combat arenas, dungeons, urban centers, and continents from almost any perspective. Users can also create character illustrations. For $30 as opposed to $15, the full bundle is so worth it, particularly for mappers who have only the annual CC3+ license seeking permanent licensing. However, it's clearly an even better deal for map-making newbies since it includes the beginners' tutorials to facilitate learning. The one caveat here is that while the purchase is available across platforms, the software is only usable on Windows.

Philanthropic Aspect

Similar to previous bundles, a portion of each sale goes to benefit a nonprofit. For this one, that's Save the Children, an organization founded by Eglantyne Jebb in 1919 focused on improving the lives of children worldwide via educational programs, medical services, and crisis response.
