Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard courts
A comeback Medvedev secured his first championship for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a former number one, has experienced a challenging period, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is his initial title since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court from spring of 2023.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 titles at twenty-one various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my child her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six finals, featuring in that event earlier this year.
The player's defensive strategy and regular outbursts on the tennis court had prompted commentators to question if his skill to compete at the top level was finished.
However the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and compete positively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the last five games to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his maiden professional victory, gained dominance to push for a final set.
He rescued four initial opportunities in a competitive final set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured the win with a shot at the net, with Moutet failing to control a return after a lengthy match.
